I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Galentine’s Day than an afternoon filled with makeup lessons and mimosas while celebrating the special friendships in your life!
I recently met Christina Choi, the founder of Christina Choi Cosmetics at a local show in the Bay Area. I quickly connected with her cosmetics line and decided to partner up for a special makeup session to celebrate Galentine’s Day with my girlfriends.
We had a lovely time at Christina Choi Cosmetics studio in San Francisco and I wanted to share a sneak peek of our Galentine’s Day celebration and our favorite makeup tips from the session!
Tip No.1: Eyes First
Do your eye makeup before applying foundation. In case of loose eyeshadow under your eyes, easily clean it up with a makeup remover disposable wipe.
Tip No. 2: Be Creative with Eye Shadows
Eyeshadows are very versatile. They can be used as eyeliners, eyebrow fillers, blush and of course eyeshadow! When filling your eyebrows select an eyeshadow that matches your hair color for a natural look. Start with the arch and subtly fill in right and left following the direction of the hair growth.
Tip No.3: Eyelash Curling
When curling your eyelashes, use a pumping motion with your eyelash curler (rather than one intense squeeze) to achieve a soft curl look.
Tip No.4: Simple Blush Application
When applying blush, smile softly and start application on the raised portion of your cheekbones. Slide brush diagonally towards the hairline above the ear.
Tip No.5: Transform your Daytime Look
Transform your daytime makeup by elevating your eyeshadow application. Add a subtle pop of color and eyeliner to your look by dabbing eyeshadow on the edge of your eyelid with a small angled brush and flip back and forth to get a natural line on the eyelid. This is the perfect way to spice up your look for a night out!
