How long does Custom Jewelry Design take?

Plan for 8-12 weeks minimum from the time we start designing. Be sure to inquire about availability ahead of time if you have a strict deadline, as our design calendar can fill up quickly. 

How much does Custom Jewelry Design cost?
  • A custom design starts with an initial deposit of $500, which goes towards the overall quote for the project.The main factors that determine the cost of your design include: type and quantity of metal needed to cast your piece(s) and type and quantity of gemstone(s). 

  • Have a specific budget in mind? Provide your budget in the Custom Design Inquiry form, and we can discuss options to keep your design within that range.

Can I design a piece of jewelry for someone else?
  • Of course! You can design a piece FOR someone else or WITH someone else. 
  • Tip: If you’re designing a gift or an engagement ring, remember you’ll need to collect ideas about style likes and dislikes, as well as metal and stone preferences, to guide us in the design process. Not sure how to describe a style? Photos and images are a great way to share your ideas and inspiration.
    Can I buy a gift certificate for Custom Jewelry?
    • Yes, we have gift-wrapped Custom Jewelry Gift Boxes available. Purchase includes everything you need to get that special someone started on their custom design journey: a print copy of Cielomar’s Custom Jewelry Design Guide, a guaranteed spot on the design calendar, and a Design Deposit Certificate of $500 (plus an additional design budget amount of your choosing).
    What kind of stones can I choose from?
    • The sky’s the limit! If you have a specific stone in mind, let us know. We source from a variety of trusted gem dealers to find the perfect stone for your piece. 
    • Not sure which stone you want? Here are some tips about designing with gemstones. Find more on our blog, ?Ask the Jeweler!
    • What’s your favorite color? Many gems come in a surprising array of colors. Once you decide on a color, you can choose which gem best fits your budget!

    • Totally obsessed with… Maybe it’s the stone itself that calls to you. A lifelong love of emeralds? A desire for diamonds? Choosing a type of stone can help focus your design, as certain cuts work best with different stones.

    • All about the look. Another way to approach design is to think about the feeling you want your piece to evoke. Sparkly glamor? Vintage elegance? Modern minimalism? Choose a shape and cut that evokes that style, and the rest will follow.

    Which metals are available?
    • We work with platinum, palladium, 14K or 18K gold (yellow or white), 14K rose gold, and sterling silver. 
    How is the shipping process?
    • Your custom design will be sent to you in a luxurious custom gift box—ready for gifting. We ship all custom jewelry insured/signature required, via UPS, along with digital photographs of your piece that you can keep as mementos and use for insurance purposes.

    Is Custom Jewelry Refundable?
    • Neither design deposits nor fully paid custom designed pieces are eligible for returns or refunds. 



    What forms of payment do you accept?

    Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and Paypal.

    How secure is this store?

    All payments are processed via Shopify one of the most trusted payment gateways in the world. Shopify uses the highest level of encryption and data security to ensure your details are protected. 

    Do you charge sales tax? 

    California state residents will be charged sales tax during checkout.

    What is your exchange/return policy?

    Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, please notify us within 10 days of receiving your order to schedule an exchange/return. Once the exchange/return is authorized, unused items in their original condition and packaging can be returned to the address provided. 

    If an item is defective, it will be exchanged for a new one at no additional charge. Exchanges and returns are not guaranteed and are subject to our review of the return item. Exchange/return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Please insure your exchange/return package for the price of the item, as we are not responsible for lost packages.

    What is your repair policy?

    At Cielomar Jewelry, quality and craftsmanship is our top priority. If you experience the need for repair on any of your Cielomar Jewelry pieces, please contact us and include the following information:

    • Description of Jewelry Piece
    • Repair Needs
    • Order Number or Date of Purchase

    We will repair at no charge any breakage caused by manufacturer defect within 120 days of purchase. 

    Repairs needed after 120 days of purchase or caused by wear or damage will incur a repair charge at the customer’s expense. Repair cost will be provided after inspection of the piece. We will contact you when the repair is ready and invoice you to cover the repair charge (usually in the $25+ range) plus $7.50 for return shipping. This includes refinishing of the jewelry.

    Repair shipping cost is the responsibility of the buyer. Please insure your repair package for the price of the item, as we are not responsible for lost packages. Include your Name, Address, Order Number, Phone Number and Reason for Repair along with your piece.

    Can I return a sale items?

    We don't offer returns or exchanges on sale items.



    Where do you ship your products?

    We ship to the United Sates and Puerto Rico.

    Are orders available for immediate shipping?

    Most jewelry pieces are made to order. Production time varies from 3-7 business days, though we strive to ship orders as quickly as possible. Shipping timeframe for custom orders varies and will be provided with the design quote.

    How long will delivery of my order take?

    Orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail with a USPS tracking number and are typically delivered within 2-5 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. The shipping rate starts at $8. If you prefer a faster delivery, we also offer USPS Mail Express (1-2 business days, excluding weekend and holidays). Contact us prior to placing your order if you prefer to use USPS Express Mail. To view shipping costs, add your desired product to your cart and proceed to check out page.
